The days are officially hot and summer clothes are now fully out and about. This means everybody is showing a little more skin. Winter has a way of drying skin out so to avoid looking dull and dry, a good dosage of exfoliating is in order. As nice as an expensive spa treatment sounds, exfoliating doesn’t have to be a big expensive do, and while there are a myriad of body scrubs out there for sale, my favourite fix can be made at home in the kitchen. This scrub gets rid of dead skin cells and leaves your skin feeling, soft, smooth and moisturised. Plus, it can be made from ingredients which you most likely have on hand in your kitchen. Having great looking and feeling skin has never been this easy.
1 cup of brown sugar
¼ cup of honey
¼ cup of olive oil
Optional: a few drops of your favourite essential oil to make it smell extra nice.
How to make it:
Combine the ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughly.
How to use it:
Apply the scrub on wet skin and gently rub in circles. It is important not to be too rough as you don’t want the sugar grains to be overly abrasive on your skin. Rinse off when done.
PS: this scrub is for use on the body and is not recommended for use on the face- especially if you have sensitive skin- as it may be too abrasive for delicate facial skin.
